Some rumor and speculation has been brewing about PlayStation Home and whether or not it would be holding a live broadcasting of the German GamesCom in one of the spaces...
Although there is a possibility of having the conference show after the fact, there is a PlayStation Network maintenance scheduled for 9:00AM PST. Rather coincidentally, that maintenance just happens to be 6:00PM in Germany's time. Why is that a coincidence? Sony's much-hyped conference just happens to be at that time.
Here is what Sony's Knowledge Center on the PlayStation website stated in regards to the PSN downtime:
The PlayStation®Network will be taken offline for maintenance on August 18, 2009 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM PST. We apologize for any inconvenience.
